The Democratic Bloc, a Tunisian parliamentary caucus, announced that it had seen a bill condemning the potential unification of relations between Tunisia and Israel.

"When parliament receives this law, it will recognize the public forces that are standing in the way of unification with Israel, the fraudsters and colleagues," said MP Haykal Mekki in a question and answer session of the bloc in the Tunisian capital.

The statements came after Tunisian Prime Minister Hisham El-Mechichi said that Tunisia has no plans to unify relations with "Israel", and demanded that establishing such relations "is not in the plan."

In addition, on Friday, former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki criticized the dubious declaration of the unification of relations between Morocco and Israel.
