Today, Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the UN Security Council to assume its political, legal and moral responsibilities to stop "crimes" by Israel against Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem.

In a press statement, the ministry condemned the occupation excavations in Al-Buraq Square, the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and near Al-Mughrabi Gate, saying that it falls within the "scheme of Judaizing the region."

The ministry said that the Israeli occupation state "aspires to the Silwan area, which is exposed daily to continuous targeting aimed at displacing and expelling Palestinian citizens, whether through house demolitions, the distribution of demolition notices, or the seizure and leveling of lands."
Palestinian sources reported yesterday that the occupation authorities escalated excavation work in Al-Buraq Square (the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque) and near Al-Mughrabi Gate.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem warned of the dangers of the ongoing Israeli excavation work in Al-Buraq Square, and near the Mughrabi Gate.

The department considered that the occupation state is taking advantage of the current circumstances from the spread of the "Corona" pandemic, to continue to restrict the Old City and prevent the usual presence in Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
