The Ministry of Information said that it monitored 39 violations by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian journalists and media institutions during the period between 1 and 31 of January 2021, calling for the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution on the protection of journalists and international humanitarian law

The ministry stated, in its monthly report, that the occupation army has targeted 13 journalists, more than 6 press crews, 10 media pages, and one printing press.
The Israeli violations during the past month ranged in nature as follows: live bullets (7), beatings, kicks, stun grenades and gas canisters (5), prevention of coverage (5), arrest and violations inside the occupation prisons (5), injury with a tear gas canister. (1), rubber bullet injury (1), bruises and bruises (2), breaking into a printing press (1), banning a movie screening (1), breaking equipment (1), blocking social media (10).

She explained that the geographical distribution of these Israeli violations against journalists and media institutions varied as follows: the Gaza Strip (9), the prisons of the occupation (5), Hebron (4), Ramallah and Al-Bireh (2), Nablus (2), Salfit (2), Jerusalem and the Palestinian interior (2), Qalqilya (1).

The Ministry of Information stressed the seriousness of the Israeli violations aimed at preventing journalists from covering the violations of the occupation, calling for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution (2222) on the protection of journalists and international humanitarian law, and to ensure that the Israeli occupation forces and settlers are held accountable and not with impunity.
